Tawfik Chamaa

Dr Chamaa was graduated from Geneva University – Faculty of Medicine in 1985. He acquired several other diplomas and postgraduate degrees in General and Internal medicine and other specialities (Clinical ultrasound, Clinical hypnosis, Obesity assessment and Medical statistics).

On December 16th 2011, the Association Syrian democrats which have been created in Geneva following the Syrian uprising in March of the same year, called for the first conference on medical emergencies in Syria – Urgence Sanitaires Syrie, a one day symposium which grouped many health supporting organisations created by Syrian doctors across the world (USA, France, Germany, UK). This meeting was the milestone for the creation of the UOSSM (Union des Organisations de Syriennes de Secours Médicaux) established officially on the 7th of January 2012 in Paris.
He is actually the head of public relations and the spokesman of the UOSSM International and member of the board and executive panels.

The UOSSM is a coalition of 10 humanitarian, non-governmental, independent organisations. Its major mission is to provide humanitarian and medical aid to Syrian people all across the country and in the refugee camps, regardless of their political affiliation, religion, ethnicity, or any other factor.
