Dr. Gloria J. Balboa was born in Buenlag, Binmaley, Pangsainan, Philippines on April 21, 1962. She is married to Nereo Ocampo Balboa and blessed with a daughter named Nerissa Gloria.
Dr. Balboa is a consistent scholar during her undergraduate years in University of Philippines- Manila in 1982 and finished her Doctor of Medicine from Lyceum Northwestern University in 1986, third honors. She completed her Master in Public in Health (1992) and Master in Hospital Administration (2006) in University of the Philippines.
Dr. Balboa was a former Officer-in-charge Medical Center Chief of Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center year 2006. She became the former Director III of DOH Center for Health Development in San Fernando, La Union from 2006-2008. She was also a former Director IV of DOH- CHD- MIMAROPA from 2008-2012. She then transferred to DOH CHD in Bicol from 2012- 2015 and as of today she is the Director IV of DOH Health Emergency Management Bureau.
Our Director is also a recipient of awards such as Most Outstanding Woman Physician in Public Health in 2004, Most Outstanding Physician in Community Service in 2003, Most Outstanding Alumnus in 2003 of Lyceum Northwestern University, College of Medicine. Most Outstanding PMWA Chapter President in 2001, Most Outstanding Physician in Region 1 by: The North Tribune Newspaper.
