The Graduate Institute

The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva is an institution of research and higher education with a particular emphasis on the cross-cutting fields of international relations and development issues. The Global Health Programme (GHP) is the Institute's research, training and capacity building programme focusing on global health governance and diplomacy, designated World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Governance for Health and Global Health Diplomacy. Created in 2008, it is one of the first of its kind integrated into an academic institution of international relations and it reflects a wider trend in both the practice and analysis of global health which pays increased attention to the links between global health, foreign policy, and development. Uniquely located at the heart of Geneva, the GHP acts as a platform for the exchange of experiences and knowledge between actors active in health and health-related sectors to find innovative solutions to current global health challenges.
